What do we see now? What does your America, your world, look like - feel like? What does our future look like together? Give us your interpretation!
The Union County Community Arts Council invites artists 18 and up to submit work for consideration to the New World, New Voices Juried Art Competition at the Dowd Center Theatre in Monroe, NC. Submitted artwork must be original work of a singular artist and executed within the last three (3) years. A variety of artistic voices and diverse perspectives are welcomed and encouraged.
Submit photos of your entries using the following Google Form link. Photos and entry fee must be received by September 1, 2023 @ 5:00pm in order for your submission to be reviewed by the juror.
Exhibition Dates: October 4 - October 22
Reception & Awards Presentation: October 6, 6:00-8:00pm
Categories:
- Drawing: Pencil, pen & ink, conte, charcoal, soft pastel, oil pastel, color pencil, markers
- Photography & Digital Imagery:
- Photography – Analog photography that requires film and chemical processing to develop the image and print. May be black and white or color.
- Digital Imagery – Images captured using a digital camera as opposed to 35 mm film or another film-based camera. Images may be adjusted using imagery software, but heavily transformed/ manipulated or digitally photo-collaged works will not be accepted.
- Painting: Oil, encaustic, acrylic and watercolor
- Mixed Media: Artwork that uses more than one medium to create a relief, collage, or assemblage.
